Do you know if menopause is over?
Blood tests can tell whether your ovaries are beyond menopause or not. These blood tests measure your levels of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH), proteins made by the brain that stimulate ovulation. If your ovaries are beyond menopause, they no longer respond to FSH and LH, and your brain reacts by sending out even more of these hormones. Blood tests indicating high levels of FSH and LH show your doctors your menopausal status. When you have a hysterectomy you go into surgically induced menopause your brain may react causing, hot flashes and night sweats as well as many other symptoms.
The Circadian Rhythm
The Circadian Rhythm (Hormone Melatonin)
The body has a certain rhythm it is called Circadian. It is you 24 hour internal biological clock. The master clock is located in the “Hypothamus” it keeps everything in synch. The nerve cells are called “” nucleus or “SCN”. As we all know your body cannot repair itself without proper sleep. There is a metabolic protein called SIRTI, located above your optic nerve it directs the brain to make melatonin. Melatonin is the hormone that makes you sleepy.
Disrupted sleep makes you hungry because the metabolic protein is not able to direct your DNA.
Interrupted sleep affects hormone production and cell regeneration.
Increased hunger equals Obesity and Diabetes. Artificial light irregular meal, work, and sleep times cause Circadian Desynchrony”
It has been proven that even the most healthy human beings that work shifts get more organ diseases especially heart and kidney and of course weight gain. Our most rejuvenating sleep is before midnight. (You can watch your programs on demand no need to stay up).
This is crucial as our growth hormone is at its greatest level an hour or two after you fall asleep. Our cortisol (stress hormone) levels are lowest at night. Do not push yourself by working or doing simulative activities at night.
Go to bed before 10:30pm avoid staying up any later than that or your adrenal will have to kick into overdrive giving you a second wind this usually happens at 11pm. Most people need a minimum of 8 hours of sleep otherwise you will push your body into adrenal fatigue. Shut off the TV, computer and lights as soon as you can.
Start winding down if you can at 8pm. This will help your body to produce melatonin, which helps to trigger you to fall asleep.
Cortisol levels start to rise rapidly between 6am to 8am. This will not happen if you have adrenal fatigue.
If you have adrenal fatigue you will wake up tired. When you wake up tired it feeds into stimulant and sugar craving cycle. Sugar dependency will not heal your adrenals. Sugar depresses your immune system. The urge to urinate at night is an indication of low adrenal function. You should be able to sleep through your need to urinate until the morning. Go to sleep; If you need to take Melatonin the recommended dose is 1mg. Always check with your doctor when using supplements and medications! Heal your hormones and make your own Melatonin.
